Rome In a Day Itinerary:
As they say "Rome wasn't built in a day" but it can be done with my one day itinerary. I can get you a driver, Roberto, to pick you up at the port and take you straight to the city center to meet many experienced and fun guides (Inger blondie Detroit lady or Agnes posh London gal with a great sense of humor). You will be whisked around and told tales of the Colosseo and Roman Forum. After the ruins you will head to Campo dei Fiori, Piazza Navona and Pantheon with a break at one of my favorite trattorias in Rome. When your belly is full and your feet are ready for more walking, you will head to the last destination of the day, the Vatican. The guide will take you through Saint Peters and of course the Vatican Museum. You will be rewarded for your day around Rome with a big ice cream before heading back to the port with Roberto.
Classic Itinerary:
Most people come and stay in the Eternal City for 2-3 days before heading off to other cities in Italy. I offer a pick up from the airport by my trusty driver, Roberto, to the hotel. After settling in, I will come and meet you for a Rome's crash course of the city. For 3 hours we will hit Campo dei Fiori, Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, the Fontana di Trevi and the Spanish Steps and then quick break for a gelato and/or coffee and a meal at one of my favorite trattorias. You will be getting my quirky stories of Rome plus some funny experiences that I have had living away from the States. For the next couple of days I will book one of our great guides (Agnes or Inger) to take you on a more knowledgeable tour in areas of the city that need further explaining: Colosseo with Rome Forum and The Vatican. I will be reachable by a phone that I lend to you during your stay in Rome to call me for any questions, comments or assistance.
The Works Itinerary:
Want a holiday where you just show up? Well, I can do that. If you need someone to plan your every moment while in Italy, I can do that. I can set up a week itinerary that includes days in Rome and excursions out of Rome (Beach towns for the beach friendly or wonderful wine towns outside of Rome for the wine friendly). I will reserve accommodations according to client's requests, set up transportation to and from airport and during your time in Rome, arrange tour guides and sites to visit each day and also plan a week of entertainment for the evening. All you have to do is show up and I do the rest.
Since every package is personalized, pricing varies
Since every package and service is based on individual request prices vary.
Comfortable, yet centrally located hotels:
It is super important to like your hotel accommodation and also be located in a well connected area of the city. I have a wide range of arrangements from luxury hotels, rented flats and bed and breakfasts that are comfortable yet central! Prices vary according to typr of hotel and time of year.
I always recommend my friend, Emanuela's bed and breakfast near the Vatican because it is family run, gives clients a feel of real life living by going to the downstairs bar for breakfast like typical Romans and it is on a quiet and non touristy street minutes walk to Saint Peter's. Check out their web site and tell them I sent ya!
My apartment rental: I have a comfortable apartment that is centrally located. If you are a couple wanting to live the Roman life by renting a home as opposed to hotel my apartment can be made available. It is centrally located, well serviced with restaurants, shops and public transport. For more information ask away
Introductory Roman workshops:
The first day, I will welcome you and give a tour to get acquainted with the city, learn some key Italian phrases, see some of my favorite in-the-know restaurants and coffee shops and some authentic Italian culture. It is a 3-4 hour tour (including a break) which is 150 euro.
A Wide Range of Tour Guides Available:
Everything from general Roman history to specific themes like Angels and Demons and Haunted Rome, I have the guide for you. For Roman Holiday lovers, there is even a thrilling Vespa tour! For sporty types there are cycling and jogging tours. Prices vary according to size of group and type of tour.
I try to suit my guides according to my clients.I work with Agnes the ever posh, witty and knows her Roman history guide to Inger the mid west, sweedish looking sweet but sharp guide to Hilary the ever charming, fashionable and knows her art (especially Villa Borghese) guide to many more....
Coming soon: Comedy tours of the city!
Italian Food, Coffee and Wine: They are great no matter where you go in Italy BUT if you want the really authentic non-tourist places, I can recommend (and reserve) the best restaurants, coffee shops and wine bars in different areas of town.
Fashion: This is the other attraction to Italy and my obsession. I can recommend not only where to shop but also provide a shopping tour of the city which will show shops from high end to up and coming Roman fashion designer boutiques.
Help, Information, and Translations: I have contacts with English speaking dentists, doctors and medical professionals. If you are walking around and need a tip for a great gift shop or fab place to have lunch, I am just a phone call away! If you find yourself stuck in an Italian only spoken place -don't panic - I can translate. You want to hang out with a local? I am here to show you how the Romans have fun.
Trusted Drivers: Roman taxi drivers are notorious for taking advantage of tourists (and even locals!) so having my trusted driver, Roberto is a sure way to spend far less money and have excellent service. (BTW he has a nice car!:))
Excursions and Trips: I offer guided tours with or without driver to wonderful towns out of Rome. They include the numerous wine areas in Castelli Romani, aristocratic papal villas, exclusive beach towns such as Sperlonga, small historical villages such as Tivoli and the impressive excavated ruins of Ostia Antica.
Enjoy your holiday in another country without the fuss of figuring it all out...that's why I am here.
Whether you want the full package or just one or two services, I am here to ensure you have a fun and informative Italian experience!
